Research Description: My lab research focuses on understanding the origins and maintenance of invertebrate diversity. We use phylogenetics, biogeographic analyses and population genetics to elucidate the patterns and processes of animal life, early cladogenesis and speciation processes. We are interested in a diverse set of topics including theoretical questions on phylogenetic analysis and homology recognition, amphiatlantism and cosmopolitanism of marine benthic invertebrates, biogeographic patterns in oceanic islands, or in assembling the Animal Tree of Life, among others.
