Research Description: |
Our aim is to understand how is regulated the oogenesis in insects. As a model we used the cockroach Blattella germanica, an hemimetabolan insect with panoistic ovaries, whose vitellogenesis and oocyte growth are regulated by juvenile hormone. Now we are focoused in the role of miRNA regulating oogenesis and specially how they can participate regulating the genes that determine polarity in insect oocytes |
