PI: NO, PhD Candidate
Taxa Studied: Invertebrate Animals
Techniques Employed: Solexa (Illumina) Sequencing, Bioinformatics/Sequence Analysis
Research Description: I am currently studying the European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis, male nuptial gift. Using direct and indirect approaches I hope to determine not only what the male donates to the female, but how the female processes and utilizes that gift on a molecular level. I am also interested in how variation in gift composition can lead to differential paternity success for males and changes in lifetime fitness for females.
