Research Description: My lab is interested in the switch to flower formation and in regulation of flower patterning in a variety of plant species. Most of our work to date has focused on Arabidopsis thaliana, but we are also investigating rice, Brachypodium, soybean and tomato. We are interested in the question how the developmental transition to reproductive development is regulated by integration of exogenous and endogenous cues for optimal reproductive fitness. We are also interested in the question how chromatin state changes regulate cell identity and response to extrinsic (stresses) and intrinsic (hormonal) signals.
