Research Description: |
In my lab we use three types of marine species, the polychaete Platynereis dumerilii, the marine midge Clunio marinus and the acoel Symsagittifera roscoffiensis, to investigate: Lunar rhythms in marine organisms, their underlying clocks and photoreceptors Interconnection between lunar, circadian and seasonal clocks Evolutionary origin of these clocks Effect of light pollution on these clocks In addition, we work on zebrafish, as well as medakafish to unravel the function of inner brain photoreceptor cells in vertebrates. |
