steering committee
The members of the EDEN Steering Committee first came together in the spring of 2007 in the context of a Radcliffe Institute Exploratory Seminar entitled “Genetics and Genomics of Emerging Model Species”. The goal of this meeting was to explore how common tools and resources could be applied in order to further our similar goals of developing model systems for the study of evolution, development and ecology. We represent a breadth of model systems, research questions and career stages.Following the Radcliffe Seminar, we co-authored a paper on emerging
model organisms. We subsequently received a NESCent workshop award, and met several times in 2008 and 2009, one of our goals being to develop the RCN proposal for the National Science Foundation that resulted in EDEN.
